The PSFK consulting team has noticed that as social media becomes more mainstream, it is becoming an integral aspect of gaming by making new experiences possible.One company operating in this space is Tweetland–a company that has created a game using experiences reported on Twitter to create in-game content. ‘TweetLand’ is the first videogame in the world that plays with reality by factoring in real life experiences from people all over the world using Twitter messages to create content inside the game that will affect gameplay. Some events affect the game to help the player, while other events provide challenges and difficult situations that the player will have to confront. For example, if a user in New York reports a traffic accident on Twitter, the gameplay may reflect that event, turning the tweets of the real world into events in the virtual world. We want you to be featured in our official TRAILER. Interested?
As many of you may know, the game is now ready and we are working on the final details of the campaign’s launch! One of these details is an uber important mega cool trailer. We are working on a nice script to go with it, and we want to include you in it! Our plan is to involve tweetlanders all over the world to be featured in Tweet Land´s official game trailer. To do this, we’d like to encourage all of you to record a video of yourselves using an iOS device - similar to the video we are attaching with this message.
The idea is to collect videos of people worldwide using an iPhone, iPod or iPad at different iconic locations - this way, when editing we can show in the trailer people of the world using their device to tweet and/or play Tweet Land. Because of post-production reasons, we would need for you not to show the device’s screen (similar to the reference video we are attaching).
If you possess high video filming/editing skills and know-how, that’s perfect! Just try to record it with the same techniques used in the reference video - focus, illumination, composition, etc. If you don’t, thats also ok! Do what you can and send us your video!

Since the end of the Kickstarter project we have been working really hard in every detail of the game. Today we are glad to announce that as a special gift, now we are adding some bonus remixes of the original songs to the full OST of the game.
As gamers, we have been influenced seriously by games such as Mega Man, Sonic, F-Zero, Chrono Trigger, Metal Slug and many many many more. You will definitely notice that, not only in the game art and gameplay, but also in the music. By now we are showing you what we are doing with the soundtrack.
A month ago we only had an idea, and thanks to all of you now we are close in making it a reality!
Thanks for all the support, comments, recommendations, and above all for the incredible vibe we have perceived from all of you. These are the things that motivates us the most to keep on working hard in Tweet Land and provide a new approach on videogame development. It’s a big dream, but all of you helped us in believing that it’s possible!
319 backers helped through Kickstarter.com, with pledges that went from $1 up to $ 1.000 for a final total amount of $8613. An extra $300 were donated directly to our costa rican bank account, which was destined for such use. Also, Bar El 13 contributed by donating 13% of their customer’s consumption total in the “Noche Tweet Land” event they hosted on Monday, April 15th to support the videogame’s creation. Yay!

When is Tweet Land going to be ready?
Around midyear we are planning on releasing the platform with Route 140, and we expect that Love City will be making its debut shortly after.
How and when am I going to get my rewards?

Hi Tweetlanders. Sorry for not recent posts, but it has been a really busy week since we launch this monday our Kickstarter project to make Tweet Land happen. If you have not heard about it yet, please check it out here. Its awesome!
We are glad to announce that at one week from the launch in Kickstarter, we are 50% of our initial goal. However, we must be sure to reach the $7000 before the deadline, because if we don´t -it doesnt matter the amount of pledges we have- , no money will change hands. So keep helping and spreading the word. Remember that the more support we get, the bigger and funner Tweet Land will be.

An action game where all the love shared in the social networks turns real and you have to fight it with a rebel anti-care bear. Each time someone comments in Twitter that "love" something, the love citizens will try to suffocate you with a hug. You have to defend yourself with the hate-gun, a gun that gets its more ammo each time someone comments that "hate" something.
Also your hate-gun could change and become more powerful with the tweets people around the world do.

Un juego de acción en donde todo el amor expresando en las redes sociales se personifica, y vos debés combatirlo con un oso anti-cariñoso rebelde. Cada vez que alguien en Twitter comenta que "ama" algo, los ciudadanos amorosos tratarán de sofocarte con un abrazo. Y la forma de defenderse será con el hate-gun, un arma que se carga cada vez que alguién comenta que "odia" algo.

The game works really simple. Every time someone in the world tweets something, his or her tweets could affect the gameplay of Tweet Land by triggering certain action-keywords.
We have created tons of situations that are triggered by their relative keywords that people might tweet. Some of them are:
We have many many more, but we don’t want to spoil your game. And we will create more and more. Many will be based on trend topics, many on actual events, and many others will be odd stuff people tweet (you know that happens a lot!).
The sweet part comes from the fact that people around the world are always creating tweets for the game based on their real-life experiences; even if they are not playing; even if they don’t know anything about Tweet Land. So the events and the gameplay are always changing within the web and its thousands of conversations.
